In my opinion, life is one big series of "you had to be there" events. Any moment that is funny or memorable is hard to relate to someone who was not there; yet we try our best to explain it anyway. There are libraries full of people who have tried to record an event in order that others, years later, can experience the same passions, joys, encouragement or even pain that they had experienced. I enjoy reading books that make me experience the same emotions every time I read them, such as, Pride and Prejudice or the Count of Monte Cristo. I cannot help but laugh with joy when Elizabeth Bennet tells Darcy that she no longer hates and despises him but the exact opposite is, in fact, true. I do realize that I have transitioned to another literary era then the one we have been currently studying but I truly believe that literature, all literature (yes. Including Harry Potter), should be looked at together.

If none of this makes sense, the only thing I can tell you is "you had to be there."
